Eileen Sherr, CPA, CGMA, is a senior manager on the AICPA’s Tax Policy & Advocacy Team in Washington, D.C. She assists with the development and implementation of the AICPA’s tax policy and advocacy, including the formulation, review and submission to Congress, the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the IRS of tax technical and policy recommendations. Eileen also plays a key role in the development of the AICPA’s testimony for tax-related congressional hearings. She represents the AICPA with various state tax-related organizations, including the MTC, the Council on State Taxation and the Tax Executives Institute. Eileen staffs several tax committees, including the AICPA’s Trust, Estate and Gift Tax Technical Resource Panel and the State and Local Tax Technical Resource Panel. She also writes and presents on emerging tax legislative and regulatory issues, usually through interactions with government officials, other organizations and the media.
