Two BKD Health Care Leaders Elected to NRHA Rural Health Congress
NATIONAL OFFICE – Two individuals at BKD CPAs & Advisors have been elected to seats on the National Rural Health Association’s (NRHA) Rural Health Congress. Partner Deborah Whitley and Senior Managing Consultant Steve Smith will serve as representatives on this nationally recognized congress. According to the NRHA, the association’s mission is to provide leadership on rural health issues through advocacy, communications, education and research.
The association said, “The Rural Health Congress is the policymaking body of the National Rural Health Association. As elected representatives, Steve and Deborah will help provide representation that directly reflects the issues and concerns of NRHA’s members.”
“This recognition puts us on the national stage for rural health care providers. Being appointed to the NRHA’s Rural Health Congress will allow us to have a direct impact on rural health policy,” said Smith.
“It’s a great opportunity for our team to be a part of the policymaking body within the rural health industry. In addition, it gives us the power to give a voice to the concerns and issues of our clients and prospects,” said Danielle Solomon, national industry partner for BKD National Health Care Group.
The financial stress on rural health care providers is daunting and ultimately affects the financial health of the communities they serve. BKD Trusted Advisors™ are dedicated to serving these organizations.
“I’m honored to be chosen as an advocate for the health and well-being of rural Americans. It’s a big responsibility to serve as a representative for NRHA’s Rural Health Congress, and I will work to bring positive and lasting change to rural health care,” said Whitley.
