Myers to Succeed Wilson as BKD’s C&RE National Industry Partner
NATIONAL OFFICE – With current BKD National Construction & Real Estate Group NIP Tim Wilson approaching his retirement effective June 1, 2021, BKD selected Jason Myers as his successor. The national industry partner (NIP) is a key leadership position within BKD CPAs & Advisors. BKD’s NIPs and committees are tasked to lead innovation, craft growth visions and foster firm-first collaboration.
Myers’ experience as East Region construction and real estate (C&RE) team leader, position on the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) Executive Committee and many years of experience providing services to public and private companies made him an ideal candidate.
“I am extremely honored and humbled to serve as the next C&RE NIP,” Myers said. “What I am most excited about is the opportunity to work with our awesome BKD C&RE leaders across the entire firm to help leverage and position our firm for continued success in the years to come.”
Indianapolis and Bloomington Managing Partner Troy Gilstorf said he has full confidence in Myers’ abilities based on his success and leadership in the Indianapolis office. “Jason is a trusted advisor to both his clients and his teammates in the construction and real estate industry. I am certain his leadership will build on the foundation that Tim has set and propel this industry group into the future,” said Gilstorf.
“I have worked side by side with Jason for the past several years as we focused on growing our C&RE practice across the entire firm,” said Wilson. “I know Jason will do a fantastic job leading the niche. His deep understanding of the nuances specific to construction and real estate allow him to create new opportunities for clients and move forward with precision.”
In his time leading the C&RE practice, Wilson helped accomplish a compound annual growth rate of 8.8 percent over the past five years, established BKD’s hospitality subniche to facilitate growth opportunities, gained national recognition and branding in the construction industry through BKD’s Principal Partner relationship with CFMA and represented the firm as co-chair of the American Institute of CPAs Revenue Recognition Task Force for Engineering and Construction. Myers will work with Wilson through the transition over the balance of the year as he prepares to share his vision for growth with the C&RE team.
“Under Tim’s leadership as our NIP we have experienced strong growth and brand recognition across our entire BKD footprint,” Myers said. “He has carried our torch well and positioned us for continued success and growth. We all know we have big shoes to fill and we will do it with pride.”
