NATIONAL OFFICE – Eric Hansen, BKD’s chief operating officer, has been elected to serve as the 105th Chair of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).
“Having Eric in this influential post enhances our reputation and gives us better optics on the expansive spectrum of issues affecting the accounting industry,” said BKD CEO Ted Dickman.
Hansen, who has been affiliated with the AICPA for years, has served on the institute’s Governing Council and its board.
“Eric and BKD both do a great job of supporting the profession,” said Barry Melancon, AICPA president and CEO. “Leaders from firms of all sizes, as well as business and industry members, have endorsed Eric and expressed great respect for his ability to lead the AICPA at a pivotal time in the accounting world.”
Hansen will be the first BKD partner to ever chair the AICPA.
“The AICPA is a first-class organization that’s been such a great advocate and resource for CPAs at BKD and throughout our profession,” Hansen said. “Playing an active role in the AICPA’s efforts has always been important to me, and I’m honored that my colleagues have chosen me as chair.”
Hansen served a year as vice chair in 2016, will serve as chair until May 2019 and as past chair until May 2020.
