BKD’s Matlock Elected to Energy ESG Council Board of Directors
DALLAS – BKD CPAs & Advisors’ Brian Matlock has been elected to serve on the Energy ESG Council board of directors. Matlock is the national practice leader for BKD National Energy & Natural Resources Practice.
The Energy ESG Council—based in Houston, Texas—was formed as a nonprofit organization to integrate all material stakeholder perspectives around Environmental, Social, & Governance (ESG) attributes and to establish a pragmatic and actionable disclosure framework to educate others about the dynamics of the energy space. Their members represent the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors of the energy industry.
Matlock brings experience from more than 20 years serving energy and natural resources clients with audit, accounting and compliance services. He also has served as a board member of the Institute of Petroleum Accounting since 2012 and is a member of various local and regional energy and petroleum associations.
“I’m honored to have been chosen to serve on the Energy ESG Council board of directors. I look forward to working with the other board members as we help standardize ESG reporting in the energy sector,” Matlock said.
Matlock's election to the board of directors will benefit BKD's energy clients through his interactions with other board members as they deal with the emerging questions surrounding ESG disclosures.
The Energy ESG Council’s mission is to educate all stakeholders on those material attributes that point to greater sustainability and long-term viability of companies in the energy industry and its respective subsectors.
