BKD Industry Group Changes Name; Launches Consulting Service in Public Sector

News Release

NATIONAL OFFICE – BKD CPAs & Advisors is pleased to announce the firm has changed the name of its governmental practice to National Public Sector Group.

While still serving local and state governments, the group continues to expand services to a variety of public sector niches, including airports, transit authorities, lotteries, tribal governments, quasi-state agencies, municipal utility districts and public power and utilities. This name change better reflects the expertise and experience of BKD’s governmental advisors and practice.

In conjunction with this change, the firm’s National Advisory Services Region—led by Partner Mike Burlew—has launched Public Sector Performance Advisory Services. This service line, which aims to better assist the firm’s federal and state contacts with consulting needs, will be led by Managing Director Greg Arend.

Arend has 35 years of accounting experience working extensively with federal, state, local and tribal governments on complex business issues requiring high levels of collaboration to achieve common goals and objectives. He is based in BKD’s Tulsa office and works closely with the firm’s various public sector teams to coordinate opportunities and determine staffing from across the firm for engagements.
