NATIONAL OFFICE – BKD CPAs & Advisors CEO Ted Dickman is pleased to announce a new regional managing partner (RMP) appointment for the North Region, effective June 1, 2020. Abe Cole, managing partner of the Kansas City, Des Moines and Madison offices, will succeed Barry Davis in this role. Davis will retire as of May 31, 2020.
Cole has been with BKD for more than 23 years, focusing his client service efforts on growing and developing BKD’s extensive higher education and insurance practices. He was elected to BKD’s Governing Board in 2017.
“I’m truly honored to have the opportunity to lead the North Region into our next chapter. The North Region’s makeup of established founding legacy offices and new markets provides a unique mix of strengths and challenges that I’m excited to work with,” Cole said. “I look forward to increasing our collaborative efforts that will generate even more growth and continue to raise our bar on providing Unmatched Client Service®.”
Davis will still serve as RMP while working with Cole to help provide a smooth transition. He said Cole’s leadership has inspired growth and confidence among North Region colleagues and clients.
“Cole has been instrumental in solidifying BKD’s strong presence in the Kansas City market and also in strengthening our presence in the Des Moines and Madison markets via a successful Kiesling merger integration and other growth efforts,” Davis said. “I have no doubt he will take the North Region to even greater heights, and I look forward to working with him in the upcoming transition stage.”
Cole said he has been fortunate to work with Davis during his career at BKD. “He’s been a tremendous mentor for me and has significantly contributed to my success,” Cole said. “I respect and admire the leadership he has brought to the North Region and the firm.”
