NATIONAL OFFICE – BKD CPAs & Advisors has appointed a new regional managing partner (RMP) for National Advisory Services (NAS), effective June 1, 2020. Transaction Advisory Services and Performance Advisory Services Managing Partner Jerry Henderson will succeed Mike Burlew in this role. Burlew will retire as of May 31, 2020.
Henderson has more than 26 years of experience serving clients in mergers and acquisitions, private equity and manufacturing and distribution. Prior to his current role, he was the national industry partner for BKD National Manufacturing & Distribution Group. Henderson also serves on BKD’s Governing Board, which establishes firm policy and strategic initiatives.
“I am humbled and honored to have the opportunity to work closely with the talented leaders in our NAS practices,” Henderson said. “Our clients are facing an unprecedented level of change and NAS is well positioned to help them navigate a rapidly evolving marketplace.”
Burlew has played a significant role in helping NAS achieve substantial growth, and he’s excited to see Henderson continue moving the practice forward. “Anyone who’s worked with Henderson knows he’s a personable and very talented professional,” Burlew said. “Henderson is a proven leader and is uniquely qualified to lead NAS. He is ‘one firm’-minded and I’m confident he will expand these national practices to be a significant contributor to overall firm growth.”
Burlew will continue his duties as RMP and will assist Henderson through the transition. “I have been very fortunate to work closely with Burlew over the last several years and I have learned much from him about the discipline required to build high-growth yet profitable practices,” Henderson said.
