BKD Announces Regional Managing Partner Appointment

News Release

DALLAS – Tom Watson, BKD CPAs & Advisors’ Dallas, Waco and Fort Worth managing partner, has been appointed to regional managing partner (RMP) for the South Region, effective June 1, 2019. Todd Lisle will replace Watson as MP, effective January 2019. Watson will succeed current RMP Steven Warren as he approaches retirement.

Warren will continue his duties as RMP and work with Watson on a smooth transition. “I’ve been privileged to work with and learn from Steven over a large portion of my career and am thankful for the strong foundation he helped build in the South Region,” said Watson.

Warren’s strong leadership skills have been pivotal to further developing the South Region, and he looks forward to passing the torch to Watson. “Tom is a high-performing partner with a demonstrated track record that includes managing teams to higher engagement and increased levels of success,” said Warren. “Having him ready to step in provides me with great confidence as I move into retirement, knowing BKD’s South Region team will continue to even higher levels of success.”

CEO Ted Dickman said, “Tom is dedicated to living our firm’s PRIDE values and has been a tremendous role model for others. I look forward to seeing how he'll further grow our South Region.”

Watson is optimistic for the future. “I’m very excited and honored to have this opportunity to work more closely with all of our South Region offices. The South Region includes some of BKD’s most dynamic business markets, and I’m extremely bullish on our ability to continue our strong track record of growth and creating rewarding career opportunities,” he said.

Watson has provided audit and advisory services to some of BKD’s most complex clients for 26 years. Prior to being MP, he was BKD’s South Region health care industry leader. Since moving to Texas in 2004, Watson has been instrumental in building BKD’s Texas health care practice, contributing to BKD’s status as one of the largest service providers for Texas hospitals.
