SEC Updates Accredited Investor Definition

On August 26, 2020, the SEC released new rules that update the definition of an accredited investor. This definition determines if, and how much, an individual can invest in nonpublicly traded or nonregistered investments such as hedge, private equity, or venture capital funds (collectively private funds).
