Is Your Ambulance Program Selected for Initial Cost Data Collection?
CMS releases the listing of more than 2,600 providers selected for year one cost data collection reporting.
Beginning on January 1, 2020, select Medicare-approved ground ambulance organizations will be required to collect and report certain cost data information through the Ground Ambulance Data Collection System. On November 1, CMS released the listing of the first providers selected to gather and report the data for the first cost data collection period. For hospitals that are selected but don’t submit, or don’t sufficiently submit, their cost data, a 10 percent reduction of Ambulance Fee Schedule payments will be imposed for a period of one year.
CMS also published Data Collection Instrument requirements for reporting the accumulated data.
