The SKY’s the limit.

SKY is a firmwide initiative to emphasize and strengthen diversity by attracting, retaining, and developing diverse leaders at BKD. Our History

Our firm was founded in 1923, when three CPAs started Baird, Kurtz & Dobson with $1,700 in the bank. Today, we’re one of the largest CPA firms in the country with approximately 3,030 CPAs, advisors, and staff members working together to serve you.

Baird, Kurtz, & Dobson start the firm with offices in Kansas City and Joplin, Missouri.

1965

1965

The Medicare Act is passed, and Baird, Kurtz & Dobson lay the groundwork for the healthcare practice.

2001

2001

Baird, Kurtz & Dobson and Olive, LLP merge to create BKD, LLP, doubling the size of the firm.

2007

2007

BKD helps form Praxity, AISBL, the world’s largest alliance of independent accounting firms.
