What Hospitals Need to Know About Medicare Cost Report Changes

Health Care Reform’s Effect on Tax-Exempt Hospitals

Enacted by Congress in March 2010, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act requires hospitals exempt from tax under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) to meet four new operational requirements. Failure to comply with these new requirements could result in revocation of exempt status. Hospitals required by a state to be licensed, registered or similarly recognized as a hospital must meet the new requirements to maintain tax-exempt status. This free webinar will examine the background behind the requirements, the requirements applicable to exempt hospitals and the potential impact on Schedule H, along with a discussion of developments since the enactment.
