Join BKD for an overview of current and foreseeable agricultural lending risks. This program will offer suggestions for advising grain farmers and cover the methods of analyzing, comparing and contrasting farmers. This webinar will describe how examiners and auditors view agricultural loans and how to anticipate what lies ahead.

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Construct a spreadsheet to analyze farmers’ strengths and weaknesses
  • Discuss potential courses of action with younger or leveraged farmers and those with carryover debt
  • Describe some of the triggers and causes that can result in an examiner or auditor downgrade

The Presenters

Ted Girton
Ted is a member of BKD’s Loan Review Services division, managing loan review and loan consulting engagements, and has more than 20 years of experience in the banking industry. He has worked for financial institutions in commercial lending, loan analysis and loan review areas. Prior to joining BKD, he served as senior vice president of credit administration at a major bank in Indiana and was in charge of credit administration for a bank and trust.

Mark Weitekamp
Mark is a member of BKD’s Loan Review Services division with more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. He has worked in lending for larger super regional and small commercial banks and has extensive experience in credit underwriting, portfolio management, cash flow analysis and loan documentation.
