Join BKD as we review the details of the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CCJR) proposed rule and answer important questions that will shape the transition from fee-for-service toward risk-based outcomes. This proposal will be mandatory and affect hospitals in 75 metropolitan statistical areas by holding them financially accountable for the quality and cost of an episode of care extending 90 days post-discharge. The episode is defined by the admission of an eligible Medicare fee-for-service beneficiary to a hospital paid under the inpatient prospective payment system that eventually results in a discharge paid under MS-DRG 469 or 470 (major joint replacement of lower extremity with and without complications).

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize key provisions of the proposed mandate
  • Discuss how the CCJR program will affect hospitals and their collaborating partners
  • Identify the resources needed to successfully deliver against the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services target prices
