The Five Ws of ICD-10 Training & How to Develop a Training Plan

Date:  Wednesday, February 13, 2013
Time:  10 - 11 a.m. Central time
CPE Credit:  One Credit Hour (Specialized Knowledge & Applications)
CEU Credit:  One Credit Hour from AHIMA
Presenter:   Ann Zeisset, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, G2N

This complimentary webinar from BKD and G2N focuses on the who, what, when, where and why of ICD-10-CM/PCS training and offers participants information on how to develop an organizational training plan. An important part of Phase I (Impact Assessment) is planning organizational awareness training for key stakeholders, data users and coders and developing a training strategy. During Phase II (Preparing for Implementation), the training plan is implemented to educate those in the organization who require ICD-10 knowledge.

Because the training must be provided based on individual roles, planning for this detailed training is confusing for many. Join us for key information that can help you unravel this mystery and move forward.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Differentiate between organizational awareness training and coder training
  • Define organizational awareness training, including timing and personnel
  • Discuss coder-specific training
  • Identify key tasks related to training in Phase 1 and Phase 2 of implementation
  • Determine steps to provide organizational awareness training
  • Determine steps needed to provide coder and heavy data user training
