Within the Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa "Four Corners," BKD is the largest regional accounting firm. While the focus is regional, the practice includes clients throughout the nation. The Kansas City office, dating back to the firm’s founding in 1923, ranks among the city’s largest CPA firms. The Wichita office dates to 1980, Lincoln to 1985 and Omaha to 1986.

The practice boasts strong niches in tax, employee benefit plans, SOX 404, information technology, accounting outsourcing, human resources, health care, financial services, manufacturing, distribution, not-for-profits (including colleges and universities), government, agribusiness, construction, real estate, professional services and retail.
