Gene has more than 30 years of experience in public accounting, including more than eight years in the St. Louis office of an international CPA firm. As director of the BKD St. Louis tax practice, he serves as tax and business advisor to several of the office’s largest clients. Gene is responsible for directing the overall development of the office’s tax group and serves as the highest technical consultant to others in the office who provide tax services.

His responsibilities include assisting individuals and businesses with tax preparation and planning, strategic business and succession planning, estate and retirement planning and providing tax research services. During his career, Gene has served as consultant in various industry groups including manufacturing, distributing, construction and retail. He has represented numerous individuals and businesses before the IRS and negotiated favorable settlements.

Gene is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants and Illinois CPA Society. He serves on the National Association of Manufacturers taxation committee.

Gene is active in many civic organizations including Ursuline Academy and the city of Sunset Hills. He also serves on the board of directors and development committee for Junior Achievement of Mississippi Valley, Inc. Gene was recognized for his support and was elected to Junior Achievement Free Enterprise Society and recognized in the U.S. Business Hall of Fame.

He is a 1981 graduate of Saint Louis University, Missouri, with a B.S.B.A. degree in accounting.
