Accounting students looking to start their career on the right foot can find opportunities at BKD.
As a brand new audit or tax staff accountant, you will attend training courses designed to prepare you for a successful career at BKD. A hallmark of our learning and development programs is the foundational education you receive during your first weeks of employment. Everything you learn during BKD Office Camp and Field Camp will prime you for the “real world” of accounting and enable you to confront your first assignment with confidence.
Your introduction to BKD begins with two days of orientation and one day of training in your local office. This will help you settle in to your new environment, understand employee benefits, learn about office and firm policies and familiarize yourself with some of the technical tools you’ll be using on the job. You’ll receive business cards and a notebook computer. Then you’re off to BKD Field Camp.
You and other newly hired BKDers from throughout the firm will travel to Cincinnati, Ohio, for six days to attend BKD Field Camp. During Field Camp, you will begin building your technical and client service skills, immerse yourself in BKD’s culture and take part in a community service activity. During camp, you will have an opportunity to interact with firm leaders, partners and other BKDers focused on the firm’s next generation of leaders.
You will learn about The BKD Experience of unmatched client service and our PRIDE values: passion, respect, integrity, discipline and excellence. At The METS Center for Corporate Learning, you’ll also receive in-depth technical training and learn the “BKD approach” to providing attest and taxation services. The center offers state-of-the-art technology and is specially designed for professional training.
