John Wanamaker, partner in charge, leads a team of 245+ personnel who deliver consulting, tax, assurance and accounting outsourcing solutions to clients in Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, Oklahoma and throughout the United States from offices in Springfield, Joplin and Branson.

Kim Hamm and Mike Gray are recruiters for Springfield/Branson and Joplin, respectively.

The practice dates back to the firm’s founding in Joplin and Kansas City in 1923. Since then, we’ve served thousands of businesses and families, many for multiple generations. We’re here for the long haul to meet the changing needs of our clients.

Our tax advisors focus on planning and compliance services for businesses and families. We help with choice-of-business entity, state and local taxes, real estate cost segregation services, enterprise zone and other tax credits, WealthPlan services, compensation planning and much more to help clients build net worth and reduce tax exposure.

In addition to audits and other financial reporting services, we help clients improve internal controls, mine electronic data to create meaningful reports, conduct due diligence investigations, file SEC and other regulatory reports and help improve accounting system efficiencies.

We help clients with internal audits, step in when they are between controllers and perform other accounting and operational services, usually more efficiently and cost effectively than a business could do in-house.

Your Ties to the Community

We encourage our staff to become actively involved in community organizations and events and to participate in our BKD Foundation outreach where appropriate. It’s our way of supporting the community while expanding our network of business contacts.
