Consider This
“If you decide to purse a career in public accounting, keep a good work-life balance. It will keep you from getting burned out, and you’ll be able to enjoy your job.”

Meet Our People
Challenging WorkMark’s not a man who likes routines, so being able to audit and prepare hospital cost reports on a day-to-day basis keeps his job interesting. “My favorite thing about my job is the variety. No two hospitals are alike. This gives me the opportunity to learn something new on every job. I know I’m never going to know everything about the health care industry, but I can try.” Rewarding OpportunitiesMark discovered BKD when he was researching firms while completing his MBA. After he met BKDers at the Louisville office and ate lunch with them, he could see how genuine they were. BKD moved to the top of his list. Now at the firm, he appreciates the mixture of personalities, his co-workers’ friendliness and the partners’ open-door policy. It’s truly rewarding, he says, to have co-workers you can enjoy in and out of the office. He plays tennis with his fellow BKDers throughout the summer. And a LifeMark travels back home to Miami during the holidays and summers to visit his family. “I love going home and celebrating Noche Buena (Christmas Eve) with my family. The warm weather is nice too. During the summer, I go down and hang out on the beach.” |
