Consider This
“I would stress to accounting majors to make the people an important part of their decision as they are deciding which firm is best suited for them to start their career. If you don’t enjoy the people you work with everyday, it’s going to be hard to enjoy your job.”

Meet Our People
Challenging WorkAs a senior, Kristin is doing more reviews and helping younger staff and interns learn and develop. “Thanks to great support from our partners and managers, I also have been given a lot of opportunities to take on more client contact and meet a lot of the professionals BKD works with.” Kristin helps the Lincoln office with recruiting and is a member of the spirit committee, which helps plan social activities such as the holiday party, family picnic and annual sand volleyball tournament. Rewarding OpportunitiesKristin links accounting and community involvement by serving as treasurer on the board of directors for Updowntowners, a nonprofit in Lincoln. She assists in planning the organization’s activities such as the Celebrate Lincoln festival and the Star City Holiday Parade, which is sponsored by BKD Foundation. Kristin also volunteers for Junior Achievement, which teaches elementary age students about different business and economic concepts. And a LifeWhen Kristin’s not at work, you’ll find her in the bleachers cheering on her husband Joe’s high school varsity boys basketball team. The couple enjoys sports. Kristin, who played volleyball in college, is on competitive women’s and co-ed leagues. The Tynons’ other family member, Chloe, a boxer, is Kristin’s running partner. “I love my Chloe! I enjoy taking her on runs and playing with her,” Kristin says. |
