Camp BKD
Camp BKD is your opportunity to get to know BKD at a fast and fun pace. The weeklong orientation session for new audit and tax staff provides the foundation for your career at BKD.
What to Expect
Camp BKD helps you build your technical, social, teamwork and client service skills. You will have plenty of time to get to know your co-workers and make new friends, too. The experience, usually your first week at BKD, lets you and the rest of the campers:
- Work with your team to solve a logic problem
- Learn the BKD approach to audit or tax
- Scramble for early morning reveille
- Learn proper table manners
- Receive your first business cards
- Get a brand new notebook computer
- Sing your favorite songs at a dueling piano bar
- Compete with your team in a bowling tournament
- Ask the questions you’re dying to ask about BKD in a “campfire” setting
- Work for an Ozarks Greenways, homeless shelter or Habitat for Humanity community service project

Learn BKD Basics
You and other newly hired BKDers from throughout the firm come to Springfield, where BKD is headquartered, for an intensive week of technical tax and audit training, balanced with teambuilding activities and other presentations on BKD’s culture, etiquette and People First benefits, to name a few.
The technical training prepares you for your first client assignments by teaching you “the BKD approach” to audit and tax. The other presentations provide useful tips for functioning as an accounting professional in the real business world as well as introducing you to common values, our approach to client service, firmwide programs and initiatives and best practices throughout BKD.
