BKD PRIDE
BKD recognizes clients care about what we stand for as a firm. Our PRIDE values—passion, respect, integrity, discipline and excellence—guide the actions of our partners and employees as they strive to deliver solutions for success to our clients’ business and financial needs.
Here are our PRIDE values and what they mean for clients:
Passion
- Passion for service to others
- Passion for making tomorrow better than today
Our "client-first" attitude drives our practice and accounts for the dedication of our staff to the deadlines and needs of their clients, sometimes to the sacrifice of significant personal time. We are committed to improving our clients’ business and financial endeavors within our code of ethics and the law.
Respect
- Respect for the differences that make our team strong
- Respect for our legacy and the benefits of change
We strive to build a diverse client service team with a broad mix of skills and approaches, because such diversity leads to innovation and strength. We treat one another and our clients’ personnel with respect and appreciate their differences. By proactively embracing change, we seek the opportunities that change inevitably offers.
Integrity
- Integrity to do the right thing
- Integrity to be objective and independent
From our beginning in 1923, the tone from the top has been to "do the right thing". Our clients want to do things right as well, and they rely on our integrity and objective, independent advice to help them make smart business decisions. That’s what clients expect from one of the 10 largest CPA and advisory firms in the United States, in operation for more than eight decades.
Discipline
- Discipline in process and innovation
- Discipline to balance professional and personal commitments
Discipline is a hallmark of BKD, and our clients benefit from our well-established and successful protocols, standards and processes. By maintaining appropriate balance in our professional and personal commitments, we are fresh and energized when engaged in helping clients resolve their issues and advance their goals.
Excellence
- Excellence in skills and competencies
- Excellence in our quest to be the best
Our commitment to lifetime learning means we constantly are improving our technical and analytical skills to apply to client needs. Our aggressive ambition to be the best means we seek to consistently surpass client expectations.
The BKD PRIDE Award
The BKD PRIDE Award was created in 2003 to honor individuals who exemplify BKD’s PRIDE values in extraordinary ways. This prestigious award is presented annually to a partner and an employee, who are nominated by their peers within the firm. Award winners are recognized at BKD’s annual leadership conference, where they receive the coveted BKD PRIDE bowl.
